"At this point, I was just grateful that they found it," she said, adding that "the conclusion was that I had a blood clot that traveled into my heart, and instead of what typically happens, and the heart would filter it to your lungs.what happened with me is my blood clot escaped through the hole and it traveled to my brain, and that is why I suffered a TIA." They did more testing to find out why it went to her brain, including another test for the PFO, this time finding that she had a Grade 5 PFO, the highest you could have. "It was a perfect storm that led to me having a blood clot," she said. She then did more thorough testing at UCLA, concluding that the blood clot was due to recently starting birth control pills, as well as recently having COVID-19, and recently going on a long flight from Paris and back in a short amount of time without really moving around. They told her that she didn't have one, and she was discharged.
